Questions operations managers ask

Short answers, including the ones where the answer is “not yet”.

The four outputs

What does Tiercube do with an order?

Four outputs from one order, in the order you need them. 1, pallets: how many, and every layer, with a printable build card per pallet. 2, truck: those pallets on a 53' or 48' trailer floor, with weight and door height checked. 3, container: how much of the order fits a 20', 40' or 40' high cube, palletized or floor-loaded. 4, freight quote: the request with an estimated NMFC class, then a side-by-side comparison of the replies.

Can it tell us whether an order fits in one truck?

Yes. One-vehicle capacity shows how much of the order fits in the trailer or container you pick and what runs out first: weight, floor or height. You can then remove what doesn’t fit from the order, or ask how many more cases fit in the space that’s left.

Can we load pallets that weren’t planned in Tiercube?

Yes. Type in a pallet list (48×40 in, 120×80 cm, 120×100 cm, 42×42 in or custom sizes), or floor-load loose cases with no pallets.

What goes into the freight quote request?

Pallet count, each pallet’s size and weight including the board, stackability, total weight, volume, density and the estimated freight class. You pick carriers from your list and the request opens in your email app, in English.

Safety and responsibility

Who is responsible if a pallet tips over?

The person or company loading and securing it. Plans are recommendations; the loader is responsible for load safety. A plan is built from the dimensions and weights in your catalog. It can’t see a crushed carton, a wrong weight in your data or how the load is wrapped and strapped. Check each pallet, wrap it properly and follow your carrier’s requirements.

Can we change the rules?

Maximum weight per pallet, target height and the extra height allowance are settings. The heavy-down rule (a layer’s average case at most 15% heavier than the layer below) and the support rule (at most ¼ of a case base over empty space) stay on.

Is the freight class exact?

No. Tiercube estimates the NMFC class from density using the 2025 density scale and says so in the quote request. The billed class depends on the commodity’s NMFC item, packaging, hazmat status and carrier inspection.

Are the trailer and container sizes exact?

They are approximate inside dimensions and payloads. Edit them to match your own equipment. The payload preset is not a legal weight limit.

Orders and data

Which order documents can it read?

Cin7 Sale Quote and Sales Order PDFs, and orders entered by hand in cases. Reading other documents, such as other PDFs, scans and exports, is on the roadmap.

Where is our order and catalog data kept?

The current build runs in your browser and keeps your catalog and carrier list there. It doesn’t upload your orders. The hosted version with accounts will store data per company, separated from every other customer. A privacy policy and a data processing agreement come before launch.

What pallet sizes does it support?

Pallet planning uses 48×40 in (GMA) pallets. Truck and container loading also accepts 120×80 cm, 120×100 cm, 42×42 in and custom pallet sizes.

Can we work in centimeters and kilograms?

Yes. Switch between in/lb and cm/kg for entering data and reading plans. The catalog CSV has an imperial and a metric template.

Does it work with Cin7, Shopify or QuickBooks?

Tiercube reads Cin7 sales order PDFs today. Pulling orders directly from Cin7, Shopify and QuickBooks is on the roadmap.

Using it

Does Tiercube email our carriers?

Not yet. It writes the quote request, and you copy it or open it in your email app and send it yourself. Automatic sending is on the roadmap.

Is the interface in English?

Yes. Every screen, the printed build card and the quote request emails are in English, and the interface can switch to Turkish.

Do floor staff need their own paid seats?

No. The draft pricing counts pallets planned, not users. Pickers, loaders and supervisors open plans and print build cards at no cost, however many you have.

What counts toward the pallet quota?

Each planned pallet counts once, for the order it was planned for. Re-planning the same order doesn’t count it again. Truck and container loads and freight quote requests never count. At quota you get a 10% buffer and no overage fees, and saved plans never lock. These are draft rules; see pricing.

How long does a plan take?

Under a second for a typical mixed order. The same order always gives the same plan.

Your question isn’t here?

Ask it on a demo call. Bring one real order and we answer with a plan instead of a slide.
